For The History Channel, Frank wrote and produced the 2010 series finale, America’s Wolfman, for its top-rated MonsterQuest series; co-produced the series Frontier: Legends of the Great Northwest; acted as 2nd producer unit director for Frontier: The Decisive Battles; director of Forensic Firsts: The Criminal Mind and Under the Microscope; and served as 2nd unit director for five one-hour episodes of In Search Of History. Many of the productions included large-scale dramatic reenactments of stories that helped shape the United States.
Frank brings over 20-years of extensive experience to regional and national television. He has served in many capacities on behalf of The History Channel, A&E, PBS, VH-1, and Showtime. He has also produced for many of the nation’s top Fortune 500 companies and educational institutions i.e. Microsoft, DeVry, Baxter, Abbott, Accenture, Motorola, The Gates Foundation, The Medill School of Journalism, and the Northwestern Film School. His work has taken him to locations across the United States and around the world, including England, Grenada, Kenya, Poland, and Singapore.
For A&E, he served as assistant director of The American Revolution and secondunit director-cameraman for Betrayal at Little Big Horn and Bill Kurtis’ New Explorers program, which featured the final days of General George Armstrong Custer. For the Grammy-nominated Brian Wilson’s SMiLE DVD performance concert by Warner-Rhino, Frank acted as assistant director; he was also the writer for VH-1’s Your Imagination, which also featured Brian Wilson. In addition, he directed concert and interview segments for an independent film Hutch: Biography of Leslie Hutchinson.
For PBS, Frank co-wrote the Beach Boys 2012 reunion documentary, Doin’ It Again, he directed an Emmy-nominated feature presentation, The Lively Family Massacre, and edited other national programs including The Frugal Gourmet, Sneak Previews, and the documentary Top Guns of 1943. His many awards include: a Silver Hugo from the Chicago International Film Festival, a New York Festival’s Gold Award, thirteen national Telly Awards, and two Emmy nominations and an Emmy for his editing work for CBS-Westinghouse’s PM Magazine and Fox’s Rock an Roll Legacy. He has also been nominated twice for the highly acclaimed International Monitor Award.
Frank is a published author and composer and writer of a musical-comedy Lust ‘N Rust, the world’s first “Trailer Court” musical, which is represented by the prestigious Samuel French publishing house. The show recently had its west coast premiere in Hollywood, California to enthusiastic crowds.
